Hi,
I really can not connect to our remote MSDE database running under Ms 2003
server web edition. I am thinking that it might be the problem of firewall
which block port 1433,but my ISP don't think so.
How can I check that my server is listening on port 1433 or not'

http://www.meetholland.comCheck the SQL Errorlog on the server. It will show what port it is
listening on.
Check the NT Application Event logs. The same information is there.
Run netstat -an
