How Can I have multiple chart options for a report?

Hi, all experts here,

Thank you very much for your kind attention.

I have a question about how to have multiple chart options for a report? Like when I view a report, I want to see the report in different charts formats. It is possible in SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services (designer) to change from different chart options? Hope my question is clear for your advices.

Thank you very much in advance for your help and advices. And I am looking forward to hearing from you.

With best regards,

Yours sincerely,

You can also try Dundas charts for some more options.

Hi, Andrew,

Thanks a lot for your kind help. It is a great report article.

But in that article there is no points about different chart options within a report.

Any experts have any idea for that?

Thank you very much.

Hi there,

I guess I'm not clear on what you're asking. If you right-click the chart, there is a chart type option where you can see different types.

The different chart options are under properties.

Hi, Andrew,

Thanks a lot for your patience and kind help.

What my question is asking is -can we have different chart options embedded for the same report. Thus, to an end user, when they view the report, there will be a chart option displayed there enablling them to easily choose the report displayed in the chart type selected. Hope my explanation is clear.

Thank you very much and I am looking forward to hearing from you further.

Depending on the amount of charts, the only way I know to do this would be to toggle visibility on the chart being shown, using an Expression and a parameter.

You would need multiple charts in your report to do this. The charts would be displayed or hidden depending on the parameter passed.

There may be other options with additional 3rd-party charting tools like Dundas or ChartFX.

cheers,
